Insurance Information
Oregon Optometry accepts many insurance plans.
For your convenience, we will verify your insurance benefits before your appointment. Please let us know at scheduling if you plan to use insurance. We regularly look at the insurance we accept and are currently in the process of expanding our network.
There are 2 different types of insurance we accept:
Vision Insurance: Vision Insurance, such as VSP and EyeMed, usually covers one routine eye examination per year and benefits from glasses or contact lenses. Some vision insurance plans even offer benefits for sunglasses, computer glasses, and medical visits. Vision insurance may or may not cover contact lens exams, which are an additional service. These plans can vary widely and we will explain your specific plan to you at your appointment, or upon request.
Medical Insurance: Medical insurance is used when you need to see the eye doctor for any reason other than a “routine visit”. Common reasons include eye allergies, infections, eye injuries, eye emergencies, and dry eye evaluations. Medical insurance is also used for chronic eye conditions, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease, or when you are taking a high-risk medication. There is not usually a limit to how often you can see the doctor, and your deductible usually applies to these visits.
